Dental Veneers

Time To Unlock Your Flawless Smile!

Dental veneers are perfect solution to transform your smile. With custom veneers we can make your significant smile that matches your facial aesthetics. We use them to personalize length, height, color or tone of a tooth. Dental veneers perfectly mimic natural beauty of the teeth. Veneers are an excellent solution for achieving an ideal smile. At Dentus perfectus dental practice we shape the ideal smile.

Why patients love dental veneers?

They are thin layers (0.3 to 1.0 mm) made of glass ceramics. Due to their thin structure they are great material for minimal invasive dental procedures to change existing teeth appearance. They cover front surface of the tooth and change the shape,  he size but also the color of the natural tooth. Dental veneers are not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional because they prevent further damage of the natural teeth. Veneers don’t change color because surface is smooth as glass.

What are dental veneers?

Dental veneers are thin ceramic veneers made of ceramic or composite materials. They are used to remove dental defects and improve the appearance of a smile. Dental veneers can be divided into ceramic veneers (Veeners), ceramic lumineers (Lumineers) and composite veneers. It is possible to choose the length, width, color or tone of the dental veneers so that they perfectly match your facial features and characteristics and your personality. We make them using the most advanced technology available.

What is the planning process?

If you decide in a consultations with our dentist that this is the best option for you and that you are a candidate for veneers, the next step includes a thorough treatment plan and getting to know the details of the entire process. This includes detailed preparation of the teeth. The price of dental veneers depends on the type of veneers, the number of veneers needed and the desired smile aesthetics.

In which cases are dental veneers used?

  • teeth that have changed natural color – due to the root treatment, tetracycline stains, other medications, excessive fluoride or other causes such as large amount of composite that can change tooth color.
  • teeth that are worn out
  • tooth that is damaged or broken
  • natural teeth that are uneven, rugged or in irregular shape
  • if you have space between teeth

What to choose – ceramic or composite veneers?

Choosing between composite and ceramic veneers depends on the desired durability of the solution and specific needs of a patient, such as bruxism.

Ceramic veneers often offer greater strength and durability and stain resistance, while composite veneers may be more suitable for shorter or less demanding treatments, with faster placement. Ceramic veneers are an excellent choice for achieving the perfect look of your teeth, and we make them in our dental laboratory.

Composite veneers are made in a single visit to the dental office and do not have the smoothness and aesthetics of ceramic veneers. Each veneer adapts to your smile, allowing us to change the shape, size, position and color of your natural teeth.

What do dental veneers correct?

Dental veneers are important part of cosmetic dentistry. Due to their characteristics they are an alternative to dental crowns. We can make only one or more veneers due to the needs of the patient – if some teeth darkened, fractured or if you want full makeover. They are fully resistant to discolorations from the coffee, tea or cigarettes. We use them as alternative to the orthodontic therapy when teeth are not placed correctly or they have spacing between them.

What are the advantages of dental veneers?

  • Minimal tooth reduction by grinding. We grind the tooth approximately 0.3-1.0 mm, much less than when grinding teeth for the production of dental crowns.
  • Extremely natural appearance of teeth. Porcelain veneers and porcelain itself perfectly imitate the enamel of natural teeth and reflect light in the same way, so the veneers shine like natural teeth.
  • No change of color. The veneers do not change color because their surface is smooth like glass.
  • No gum adjustment is required. The gums tolerate metal-free ceramics as a material well.
  • Brighter teeth. Dental veneers are ideal for a brighter appearance and shine of teeth.

What are the stages of the process?

  1. Dental examination. A dental examination is the first and necessary step in diagnosing and assessing the current health of your teeth. Since we place veneers on healthy teeth, it is necessary to determine whether the teeth are healthy. We offer a welcome package for new patients.
  1. Tooth preparation. In the first phase, we prepare the teeth for the dental veneers. The preparation can take up to 120 minutes. It depends on how many dental veneers we are making.
  1. Digital tooth scan. We take a digital scan using an intraoral scanner, from which we will make the veneers in the dental laboratory. The scan takes 30 to 60 minutes.
  1. Trial. Trials are used to maximally adjust the veneer to the desired appearance of the tooth. During the trials, we pay attention to the color, shape, size and other details. The more detailed the trial, the more precise the final result will be. In some cases, we prefer to do two trials. Trials usually last about 30 minutes.
  1. Placing dental veneers. We permanently place the veneers by cementing them to the tooth once we are sure that everything is done perfectly and that you are satisfied with the final result.

What does a veneer consultation include?

A preliminary consultation is used to assess your oral health. During a clinical examination we will determine if you are a suitable candidate for veneers. This examination is very important because it allows the dentist to assess your condition before applying the veneers. During the examination, we will analyze the health of the gums and soft tissues (gingivitis, periodontitis) and we will present various options for improving the appearance of your smile. The type of veneers that will be recommended may vary depending on your specific needs and indications.

Who is a candidate for dental veneers?

A candidate is any patient who is not satisfied with the appearance of their front teeth

or has minor tooth damage. For more extensive tooth damage, we recommend dental crowns.

Do I need to remove cavities before placing veneers?

Yes, we place veneers exclusively on healthy tooth structure. This ensures the stability of the veneer, a good fit, and superior aesthetics. If you do not remove the cavities, as they develop, the tooth will suffer major internal damage despite the veneer on it.

What to expect?

During the interval between tooth preparation (grinding) and the final cementation of your dental veneers, your natural teeth may react to hot and cold. You should know that his sensitivity is normal. It occurs because a very thin layer of enamel has been removed. Once the veneers are permanently cemented, the sensitivity should disappear.

How do we plan dental veneers?

To determine if you are a candidate for this procedure we will consequently schedule preliminary consultations to check your oral health and to show you all possibilities for smile makeover. We determine size, shape and color of a dental veneer and prepare teeth to make it fit perfectly. Dental veneers can all in all change shape, size, placement and color of your natural teeth and reshape orthodontic irregularities.

The Process Of Making Dental Veneers

This process is short and noninvasive. We firstly grind small surface of a natural tooth in order to make place for veneer to fit properly. Afterwards we set temporary veneer until your permanent one is finished. In this procedure we use digital intraoral scan. We will try permanent veneers to see if the fit is perfect. If no correction is needed we cement it permanently. If something needs to be corrected then we send it back to our dental lab. When everything is finished the last step is to cement the veneers.

When are dental veneers used?

  • Discolored teeth. Teeth that have changed their natural color, whether due to root canal treatment, stains from tetracycline or other medications, excessive fluoride, or other causes such as the presence of a large amount of composite fillings that have caused tooth discoloration.
  • Worn or damaged front teeth. Sometimes there are damages on the tooth, such as protrusions, cracked tips, or other anomalies that can disrupt the aesthetics of the smile. Dental veneers will hide all the flaws!
  • Irregular shape of front teeth. Uneven or irregular shape of teeth can be brought to perfection and fit into the ideal arch of a smile.
  • When having large gaps between teeth. It is possible to hide the gap between teeth with dental veneers.

How To Maintain New Smile?

It is recommended to brush your teeth with a soft toothbrush and use dental floss as you would with natural teeth. Mouthwash helps maintain a healthy oral cavity. You may experience some sensitivity to hot and cold after dental veneers are cemented. This is related to the removal of tooth enamel. Slight tooth sensitivity is absolutely normal and usually disappears after a few days.

Do I nedd a teeth grinding guard?

We recommend that all patients who suffer from bruxism have a dental guard made. A night guard should be made to reduce the strain while you sleep. The guard protects the tooth enamel from damage. We make the guard in the desired color – pink, blue, green, yellow, green or transparent. We can make night guard or splint to reduce jaw movements while you sleep. These movements can damage your new veneers if not protected.

We have answered our patients’ questions on “Dental Veneers”

Lumineers are thinner veneers that require no or minimal tooth grinding. Veneers are a slightly thicker material, which means that the tooth needs to be prepared to make the veneer look natural.

In general composite veneers last shorter while ceramic veneers are stronger and long-lasting solution. They last usually from 7 to 10 years but that depends on many factors e.g. eating, bruxism and oral hygiene habits.

Dental veneers can not hide caries. IMPORTANT: if you grind or have bruxism you can get veneers but we need to make a splint for you to protect your new teeth.

Dental veneers can get darken due to ceramic that has stable and permanent color.

Use your brush and dental floss like with your natural teeth. Use mouthwash regularly.

Before the process it is necessary to do teeth calculus removal, sandblast and polish the teeth.
